Olympia, WA (AHN) - Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is contesting the results of Washington state's Republican primary. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) won Saturday's contest by a margin of 2 percentage points after 87 percent of votes were counted. Tallying was resumed by party officials the next day; McCain still won with 93 percent of all votes.
"The Huckabee campaign is deeply disturbed by the obvious irregularities in the Washington State Republican precinct caucuses. It is very unfortunate that the Washington State Party Chairman, Luke Esser, chose to call the race for John McCain after only 87 percent of the vote was counted," Huckabee's campaign said in a statement.
