Study: Gulf War Syndrome Does Indeed Exist and Its Due to Chemicals

After years of controversy about whether Gulf War Syndrome even existed, a new US study says it does and has identified what caused it.

Many veterans of the first Gulf War veterans came home complaining of a myriad strange illnesses: chronic fatigue, headaches and dizziness, memory problems, muscle and joint pain.

For many years the soldiers were told that psychological stress, not physical damage, was causing their problems.

Now the new study says the culprit was a chemical cocktail of pesticides used to kill sandflies and the pills the soldiers took to protect them against nerve gas.
