NEW YORK, March 10 (Reuters) - New York governor Eliot Spitzer is expected to resign, Fox News reported, citing unnamed sources.
The Fox report aired prior to a brief news conference by Spitzer where the governor appologized to his family and to the public for a "private matter." He did not announce plans to resign.
The New York Times earlier on Monday reported that Spitzer was linked to a prostitution ring.
Gov. Eliot Spitzer has admitted to being involved with a prosecution ring; reports are that he will be indicted.
